About....Siri (contd)

The plot thickens!

I have discovered from some of my canine acquaintances that Siri is known in many households. Others have described similar behaviour related to an invisible 'person' named Alexa or Google.

What are these beings and why do our humans keep talking to them?

I catalogued the conversations shared by my canine companions and found the following:

100% of interactions were questions or requests.

90% of questions were incredibly impolite. (No, "hello", "please" or "thank you". Perhaps, Siri, Google and Alexa are dogs, not humans? We rarely get any niceties.)

50% of the time the requests did not appear to receive an answer (at least none was spoken).

40% of the time the interactions ended with the human having to try again, cursing under their breath.

75% of the time the human seemed to be talking to some kind of electrical equipment.

Results are, as yet, inconclusive, but I wonder if this has anything to do with AI, which I have heard humans talk about a lot. Apparently AI is going to take over (though take over what I am not quite sure). Could this be the beginning?

The connection with electrical equipment is particularly concerning. I had to nip my human on the nose the other day because she was ignoring me in favour of her phone.

Should we be concerned about the strange power Siri and friends have over our humans? Could it be that our cuteness, cuddles and loveable scamp has met its match in the bid for human affection?

Time will tell.
